Hello,
My name is Brianne Hall. I'm looking for a senior in home nursing care provider and personal care employment opportunity in the Des Moines area.
I take my Nursing License very serious. I make sure that my patient and their families know and can see that my patients health, personal care, and safety are my number one priority’s.
I have many personal experience in providing all nursing and personal care.
I provided all in home care (personal and nursing care) for my father when he was diagnosed with terminally ill cancer. Until he passed.
I also provided all in home care (personal and nursing care) for my grandma, after she broke her hip and had to have a total hip replacement. I also did the same when she suffered a stroke and was diagnosed with severe dementia, until she passed.
I provided all in home care (personal and nursing care) for an elderly couple. I was responsible to prepare and give all daily medications, call the the pharmacist if a medication was needing refilled. Scheduling all adequate appointments to continue the best of care provided for them both. Take them to all of their appointments, drove them so they could run errands (I drove them everywhere). Cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Showering, dressing them both, and get them ready every morning and before bed.
Every morning, all three would sit down at the kitchen table drinking our coffee and eating breakfast. We would make a complete agenda for the entire day (sometimes as detailed down to times), things (chores) that needed completed before we left the house to start our day. I would assign certain tasks (no more than 2-3, depending on what the task was) to each of them and knowing their ability and if they were capable of doing and completing the tasks assigned to them (letting them still be able to complete independent jobs), but I would "secretly supervise" to make sure that they weren't having any trouble and able to complete their job without having to have verbal or physical help. We also made a weekly list of meals for each day and write it on a calendar, that was hung on the fridge. If we were needing to go to the store, we would work as a team by thinking and taking inventory of what was on hand in the house and items needed from the store by remembering what they already have. Make a grocery list of everything needed to get from the store, and also they would add "Store" to the daily agenda list (Short term and Long term memory, Fine motor skills, Speech therapy and Critical thinking are all being used in just little activities like this) Communicating and using their words with everyone, everyone giving an idea and also an input.
I feel just little activities like this, gives seniors one of the happiest feelings... the feeling of still being somewhat independent, knowing their words are being heard, and they are still a little bit in "control" of their life.
99% of seniors I know, get very upset with things that weren't originally planned, not discussed or put on their daily schedule. They haven't had the time to get them selves mentally ready for the "surprise" change. They absolutely do not like their daily schedule messed with.
I also have a wide range of nursing experience including, acute care, outpatient clinics, long term care facility, and providing all in home personal and nursing cares.
I provide a high standard of care. I feel open communication and daily documentation is very important for everybody. To be able to express any questions, concerns, or updates.
I always provide progress notes/ report daily for family.
I am available to start anytime between the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm. Monday thru Friday.
I do have a drivers license and a dependable vehicle.
My CPR certification is up to-date.
I am willing to travel.
